After the successful return of Survivor: Samoa to the prime time slot on Nine’s programming schedule, the latest season is now set to return earlier than many first thought.

The 20th season of the franchise, Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains will air on Nine from Tuesday March 9th in the high rating time slot of 8:40pm.

The reality series will screen immediately after the brand new episode of the motor show series, Top Gear.

By all reports, the Nine Network will be airing 70 minute episodes of the show, the reason for bumping Survivor back ten minutes from the 8:30pm time slot.

Top Gear is expected to dominate the rating s this year and should give Survivor a great ratings lead in for the first time in many years.

The Nine Network rushed through the latest season of Survivor in an attempt to run the latest one in tandem with America.

So far, two episodes have aired in the US, and by the time the season airs down under, we will be three episodes behind.

As per usual, the season premiere kicks off with a two hour special.
