White Room Axed After Two Weeks!

Seven’s new variety show, The White Room has been axed just two episodes into its premiere season.

Seven has unplugged The White Room from the 7:30pm Thursday night time slot, effective immediately, and has made no comment on whether the show will ever return to the small screens of Australia.

The panel show was hosted by Tony Moclair and Julian Schiller with guest spots by Dave Thornton, Felicity Ward, George McEncroe and Lawrence Mooney.

The Seven Network had high hopes for the show and had expected it to rival the success of ABCs Spicks and Specks, which had earned cult status with a decent ratings figure over the years.

However, in the two weeks it was aired the verdict was well and truly out that the public had little to no interest in the new show.

For two weeks of rating it achieved only 812,000 and 678,000 viewers, well under the one-million-viewer pass/fail benchmark.

The White Room will now be replaced by new episodes of Ghost Whisperer.

In short, the new TV trivia show was widely seen as a poor effort to copy Spicks and Specks and was dramatically disapproved by the Australian Public.

Seven will also remove ICU after this Wednesday to be replaced by Crash Investigation Unit, but is performing much better with its other new show My Kitchen Rules.
