TV Burp to Hit our Screens This Week

Ridiculing celebrities, poking fun at TV blunders and regurgitating the highlights and lowlights in the week of television is the foundation Channel Seven’s brand new comedy series, TV Burp, is built on.

Based on the popular award-winning UK series of the same name, TV Burp will premiere this week, occupying our small screens for half an hour every Thursday, at 9p.m.

After the success of the show in Britain, where it took out two British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards and has re-written television history books in the UK and is one of the most-watched comedy shows of the decade, the Seven Network could not resist the temptation to repackage the format for Australian audiences.

The show will be hosted by funny-man Ed Kavalee, who continues to rise to the top of the entertainment world.

Since his Get This show with Tony Martin was given the flick by Triple M in 2007, Kavalee was picked up by NOVA where he teamed up with Cal Wilson and Akmal Saleh in their national Drive show, The Wrong Way Home.

He now anchors the Hughsey and Kate Breakfast show in Melbourne and has regular appearances on Channel Seven’s Thank God You’re Here.

Each week, Kavalee will be joined by special guests in a comical round up of the week that was Australian television.

“This show is all about the love of TV and the fun that can be had with it,” Kavalee said.

TV Burp is one of five new national productions the Seven Network will air in the second half of this year.
