Are you smarter than a fifth grader? Well, if you haven’t found out yet, odds are you have missed your last chance to do so via the television, with speculation Channel Ten will not run the series next year.
In its 2010 programme launch, the network failed to include it I the schedule, casting doubt over the future of the show.
After the early success of the Roving Enterprises series when it launched in 2007, it has since seen declining ratings and a lack of support from network producers.
The concept of the game show involved students who were currently enrolled in grade five and were aged 9 to 12.
They had to compete against many other fifth graders on topics ranging from English, maths and social science.
With host Rove McManus in the hot seat as host of the show, the network hoped the viewers would tune in with delight, however, even in its prime time Monday night slot, it failed to live up to the expectations.
A statement from TEN today revealed: “We are still working through all our programming for 2010 and have yet to make firm plans regarding Fifth Grader.”
The reality/lifestyle show was not the only one to miss the cut, with 9AM with David and Kim, Before the Game, or Meet the Press also failing to make next years programme launch.
It is, however, early days and it is all speculation at this stage.
