Those who watch the crime series CSI always feel that the stories can be a little bit real sometimes, and for one US couple an episode was far too close to home.
A Californian couple are sewing CSI writer and producer Sarah Goldfinger for $7.6million after the couple claim two of the characters in the popular crime series were based on them.
The couple, Melinda and Scott Tamkin believe that Goldfinger used their names and used actors who resembled a likeness to them. In the episode the couple is suing for, a real estate agent Melinda (Tamkin’s actual profession) dies mysteriously and her husband Scott becomes the suspect of the investigation.
CBS refuses to comment on the lawsuit that could just be a big misunderstanding. Each episode, the characters and crime scenes change, leaving room for people to draw inferences to their own lives.
CSI has become a hit, both in the US and Australia and screens on Chanel nine Wednesday 8.30pm.
