Ten Signs Libby Trickett

Channel Ten has signed up the recently retired swimming star Libby Trickett to join their growing sports team for the next year.

After the sudden announcement that she will not be taking part in any more competitive swimming, the network wasted no time in approaching the 24 year-old about the new position.

Trickett will now join the team covering the Australian Swimming coverage and 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India.

She will also join the panel on Thursday Night Live and perform duties for Sports Tonight on both channel Ten, and One.

According to Trickett, it was a decision that she was making for some time and a great time to take the next step in her life.

“It is something I have been thinking about for almost a year now, and after much consideration and speaking with my family and close friends I know that I am ready to move on to the next stage of my life and career,” she said.

“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity that the Ten network have given me. I am really looking forward to joining their experienced team.”

Head of Sport for the Ten Network, David White, said they were wrapped to get the signature of one of Australia’s greatest young athletes.

“Libby has proven through her swimming achievements that she has the drive and determination to succeed at whatever she puts her mind to,” he said.

“Her vibrant personality and professionalism will add to our already strong swimming and sports coverage on One and Ten.”
