Susan Boyle to Sing at Logies

Reality TV singing sensation Susan Boyle is on her way down under.

The Scottish singing star is set to perform at Australia’s TV night of night, the Logies on May 2.

The Nine Network today confirmed that the 2009 runner-up on the British TV show Britain’s Got Talent will be singing on the awards night.

The Logies has always been known for being able to pull big names to perform on the night, and 2010 is no exception.

Boyle’s record label, Sony BMG, was unable to confirm whether the singer would use the performance as a way to promote a national tour, but it appears she may very will perform a few side shows during her time in Australia.

Boyle rose to fame on reality TV last year and won the hearts of the UK by the way she sings.

Her debut album, I Dreamed a Dream, has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide and around 600,000 copies in Australia, where it spent several weeks on top of the charts.

It is still currently number five in the album charts in the country.

Boyle’s brother Gerry had also confirmed the details her sister will be flying down.

“It’s up to her management but I do hear plans are afoot,” he said.

Not to be outdone on the night, American musician John Mayer will also be a guest performer at the Logies, with Australian teen sensation Gabriella Cilmi also performing.

Bert Newton will host the night.
