After suspending the television show The Chaser’s War on Everything for two weeks, the ABC have kept the Chaser boys waiting once more; failing to reach a decision on whether they should reduce the ten part series to eight episodes.
The broadcasting station decided to take the show off air after their controversial “Make A Realistic Wish Foundation” skit raised more than 1000 complaints. And now, the ABC is deciding whether to take further action and cut the show completely or shorten the satire series by two episodes.
In a statement released by the Chaser team they said that although admitting their sketch was “too black” the show should not be taken off air. Reportedly there is no word as to when (or if) The Chasers War on Everything will return to the airwaves. The Chaser’s executive producer refuses to comment on the current situation.
But the comical show is made in conjuction with the ABC network and Chaser Broadcasting and if their episodes are not aired, it could mean the network will be paying for the unaired show.
Reportedly the “tasteless” sketch was approved by the head of arts, entertainment and comedy at the ABC network.
