While the Nine Network is licking its lips at the prospect of a stellar ratings night next Sunday with the premiere of the television movie Wicked Love, the daughter of Maria Korp (the individual the movie is based on) is clenching her fists and hitting out at the producers and the TV network.
Laura De Gois has come out publicly and said that the upcoming screening of the movie will have an emotional impact on her and her family and felt that the producers and officials behind the production showed no compassion for the victims of the tragic crimes.
”I am appalled by it, no one has considered my feelings or my brother’s ‘ she said.
“To see this, it just sort of horrifies me because it depicts what we weren’t, that it was just all about sex and swingers.”
Ms De Gois was speaking out for the first time since her mother’s murder five years ago.
Her mother, Maria Korp, was found barely alive after she was attacked, locked in the boot of her car and left for dead near the Shrine of Remembrance on February 13, 2005.
She died in hospital after remaining in a coma for six months.
Her husband, Joe Korp, was beloved to be the man behind the murder, but he committed suicide on the day of her funeral.
Wicked Love: The Maria Korp Story will premier on Channel Nine next Sunday in the prime time slot of 8:30pm.
