Four female country girls, a farm and endless drama- that is Australian TV series McLeod’s Daughters. From the moment it aired on Australian TV viewers fell in love with the girls from the outback.
Creator Posie Graeme-Evans made this television drama series based on the rural community and what they believed reflects the truth of “contemporary Australian women”.
Although the show has screened eight seasons and had suspense filled final episode, McLeod’s Daughters still remains a popular TV show as it lives on through the DVD collection. Many Australian’s are still watching this prime time drama on DVD, and it remains a hit for people of all ages.
Filmed entirely in South Australia, McLeod’s Daughters is based on the lives of half-sisters Claire and Tess who are separated when Tess’s mother leaves their father Jack. But twenty years later their father is dead and Claire is struggling to run the farm on her own. Although Tess and Claire are no longer close, Tess returns to the farm as she has no where to live. But the series progresses and like all dramas we see them love, loose, gain, succeed and get closer as a family.
